This stein was most likely made in the Bavarian section of Germany in the late 1800s by the company Theresienthal. They are known for their 'amber' and 'olive' colored glass as well as the appendages on the outside of the glass called "prunts." Prunts were put on glass drinking vessels originally when people were still eating without utensils. Since hands were often greasy, holding a smooth glass could be difficult. It the glass had 'prunts' it was easier to hang on to a glass if one was holding one with prunts. This piece is inventory # TK125-010 and is priced at $195. It is in fabulous condition.

Glass wine goblet is made of clear glass and stands about 6 inches tall. It is expertly enameled with transparent enamels and depicts beautiful yellow flowers. The enameling on the hand blown finely shaped glass goblet is bold and very well done. Price $100.00.

Clear glass steins and all the embellishment work done on them is under-rated in my opinion. This clear glass stein is enameled with initials in the center front cartouche. It has a cut base with a star burst pattern. The body of the stein is faceted, cut and decorated with enameling and gold. The lid is of good quality. Condition is great. Inventory #: TK10-01 Price: $225.00

Yet another Theresienthal goblet from the late 1800s. This one is also about 7 inches tall and has the characteristic olive color, the band of enameled white dots, the gold lines and the distinctive enameled flower decoration. Price: $100.00

This clear glass stein has an hourglass shape with a very low pedestal base. The stein is faceted and cut with many decorations with the sharp, crisp edges for which cut glass is known. The lid is of good quality and the condition of the piece is excellent. Inventory number: TK-1-40 Price: $250.00

This clear glass stein has a very low pedestal base with cut facets, and circular cuts as well as the starbursts which alternate up and down the body of the late 1800s stein. The pewter work is very nice and well done and the condition of the stein is excellent. Inventory number:  TK6-99  Price:  $225.00

This is a style of stein known as a ‘pole glass’ due to its long slender shape. This particular one is made of opaline glass that has been enameled with flowers and gold and silver or platinum decoration. The lid is silver and the handle has probably been broken off at some point in the past (before I owned it) and repaired with a brass fitting that has been attached to the still- perfect body. A smaller perfect stein similar to this one (also pictured for comparison) sold in the Ron Fox auction on May 1, 2010 for over $2500. Inventory number: S-301 Price: $1500.00

This is an early (dated 1813 on the lid) cut glass stein with a flared base, polished pontil, heavy handle what is flat on the inside and rounded on the outside with a curl at the bottom attachments. The thumblift is in the shape of an urn and is on top of the lid instead of over the hinge. Very nice early stein. Inventory number TK-0020-08. Price $225.00

These steins have been together for well over one hundred years. Finding a pair of cut glass steins in wonderful condition is not at all common. Both steins are slightly larger than 1⁄4 liter in volume with a large pedestal base. The handles are quite vigorous and round all the way around. The pewter work is nicely done with extra work at the edge of the lid which holds a faceted clear glass insert. The thumb lifts are identical also—a well defined gnome walking and pouring a cup of beverage from a pitcher. Price per pair only: $210.00

This stein is made of two layers of glass, cobalt blue with a white glass overlay. In places the white glass has been cut away to leave the blue design. This was a fancy and rather expensive technique used to decorate glass in the 1800s. The pewter lid on this stein has a porcelain hand painted insert. Beautiful piece with no damage. Price: $495.00

This 12 inch tall perfect, light green Theresienthal pokal is expertly enameled in the style for which Theresienthal is known. It has large flowers that twine around the body of the pokal. The flowers have a distinctive shape and distinctive orange and blue coloration. The body has white dots in lines around the kpedestal base as well as on the main body. Gold enameled lines decorate both the base and the body. And on the most bulbous portion of the pokal , a row of white darts has been enameled for additional interest and color. Price: $175.00

This green glass and enameled drinking horn is a novelty drinking item made in the style of the earlier drinking vessels. The coat of arms is enameled as well as the rim and the small end of the 'horn.' One circular holder made to string a small rope or chain through for hanging the item when not in use has been broken off. Hence the low price of only $85.00
