Thirsty Knight Antiques opened its doors in New Market 30 years ago with an emphasis on antique drinking vessels such as cups and saucers, goblets, beakers, German beer steins, other drinking vessels. American country furniture and other antiques were also featured.

Over the years, the antique beer steins won out over other drinking vessels and have become the overshadowing features in the shop. Proprietor, Judy Stuart, has been affiliated with Stein Collectors International for over 30 years and has traveled widely to study and purchase the beer steins.

Thirsty Knight Antiques is one of over 20 shops in the historic district of New Market, MD just off Interstate 70 at Exit 62. The town is on the original National Road from Baltimore to the west. The quaint town also has dining establishments and a bed and breakfast for shoppers’ and collectors’ convenience.
